READINGS FOR THE SOLEMNITY OF ALL SAINTS (C)
First Reading –– (Revelation 7:2-4, 9-14) – Here we have a vision of the victorious followers of Christ rejoicing in his presence in the heavenly kingdom. They come from every nation, and race, and tribe, and language.
Responsorial Psalm – Such are the people who seek your face, O Lord.
Second Reading – (1 John 3: 1-3) – St. John tells us that in heaven we shall see God as he is. However, if we want to attain to this vision we must try to live like Christ.
Gospel Reading – (Matthew 5:1-12) – Here Jesus stresses the qualities he wishes to see in his disciples, qualities we see exemplified in the lives of the saints.

PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL
INTROUCTION: Dear brothers and sisters, today we join our prayers with all the saints in heaven, who are our great cloud of witnesses, interceding for us at the right hand of the Father. We now pray to God the Father with renewed faith for all our needs, the needs of the Church and of all humankind.

The response is… Lord graciously hear us.
╬ We pray for all Christians: that they may seek to know the will of God and to do it with all their strength, thus imitating Christ and his saints. Lord, hear us; Lord graciously hear us.
╬ We pray for the leaders of the world: that they may always be guided by those eternal virtues of justice and equity, which earned the victorious saints their place in God’s right hand. Lord, hear us; Lord graciously hear us.
╬ We pray for all those across the world who are persecuted because they live by the values stated in the Beatitudes: that they may receive strength and perseverance in times of difficulty. Lord, hear us; Lord graciously hear us.
╬ We pray for all the sick of our families and our parish, those in hospital, in hospice or nursing home and those for whom we are asked to pray: that God may give them strength and fortitude, and bless those who care for them. Lord, hear us; Lord graciously hear us.
╬ We remember in our prayers all our near and dear departed ones whose names are, or will be, here on our Altar: that they may be granted eternal rest and peace in the loving presence of God, our Father. Lord, hear us; Lord graciously hear us.
╬ We pray for the souls of all those whose anniversaries, months mind and birthday remembrances we are asked to recall, as well as those who have recently died: that they may receive the reward of their faith and enjoy the happiness of heaven. Lord, hear us; Lord graciously hear us.
CONCLUSION: God our Father, we bring before you all our needs, trusting that you will hear and answer them, as we pray with all the saints. We make this prayer and all our prayers through Christ our Lord. Amen

SOLEMNITY OF ALL SAINTS
This Sunday (2nd November 2025) we commemorate the countless men, women and children of all times and places who are now with God in the New Jerusalem. Masses to celebrate the Feast of All Saints will be as follows: Vigil Mass at 5pm (Saturday) & Masses at 10am & 11.30am (Sunday).
[With effect from 2 December 2018, the First Sunday of Advent, the Bishops of Scotland have made some changes to our calendar of Holy Days of Obligation - the first amendments in 32 years – and have been approved by the Holy See. The days are: Feast of SS Peter and Paul (29 June) and Feast of the Assumption (15 August).Where the Holy Days of SS Peter and Paul and the Assumption fall on a Saturday or Monday they will be transferred to the Sunday. All Saints Day will move to the Sunday if it falls on a Saturday, but not if it falls on a Monday, this is to ensure that All Saints and All Souls fall on consecutive days.]

The Commemoration of the Faithful Departed takes place on Monday (3rd November 2025). Mass will be celebrated at 10am & 6pm.

MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS
During the month of November it is traditional in the Church to pray for those who have gone before us and whose loss we feel. We do this in many ways but the most common is to remember them at Mass. If you would like your dead loved ones to be remembered at Mass during this month of the Holy Souls, then please complete a November list provided at the back of the church and return it to the box provided at the back of the Church.
“The remembrance of the dead, the care for graves and prayers of repose are a witness of the confident hope, rooted in the certainty that death is not the final word on the human fate, since man is destined to a life without limits which has its roots and its fulfilment in God.”
Please come to Mass more frequently during the month of November to pray for all the Faithful Departed. As we pray together for our deceased family members, relatives and friends, remembering also those who have no one to pray for them, we ask the Lord to continue to watch over and bless you, your family, and your friends.

SEMI-ANNUALLY MASS CENSUS
Semi-annually Mass census will take place during Masses this weekend (Saturday 1st/Sunday 2nd November 2025). I would like to thank all those who, through their presence Sunday after Sunday, faithfully and generously contribute to the spiritual and material welfare of Saint Cadoc’s parish. Please come and show your support to the parish by being present for any of that weekend Masses to register for our parish census.

second collection for church building
& maintenance fund next weekend
This Sunday (2nd November 2025), being the first Sunday of the month, the normal second collection will be taken up at all Masses to help support our Church Building and Maintenance Fund for the month of November. A box intended for the Church Building & Maintenance Fund Collection will be situated at the back of the church for the next two weeks beginning this weekend. Please be generous towards our second collection as this greatly helps pay for essentials such as continued maintenance and much needed repairs to our parish buildings and existing facilities.
The Church Building and Maintenance Fund Collection is dedicated to ensuring the structural integrity and safety of the church building. This includes things like roof repairs, heating system, electrical work, and other essential maintenance tasks. The usual weekly offertory collection helps us cover the day-to-day costs of running the church, such as utilities (electricity, heating, water), insurance, church services, general maintenance of church properties, administrative needs and various sundry expenses.
On the other hand the undertaking of any of the major repair works previously mentioned, when needed, plus other essential costs associated with the running of the parish, would not be possible without your additional help and support. Your parish church dedicated to St. Cadoc’s very much depends on your contributions and generosity.
Once again, I thank all those who, over the years, have attended this church of St. Cadoc’s and I appreciate the many contributions that have been and continue to be made to the parish, and I look forward to your ongoing assistance in the future.

MASS FOR THE DECEASED SINCE NOVEMBER 2024
TO NOVEMBER 2025
Mass for the Deceased of the parish over the last year will take place on Sunday 9th November 2025 at 10am. All are welcome, especially those who have lost a loved one in the recent past. We will remember the names of those whose funerals took place in the parish since November 2024. If a family member or a family, died elsewhere and you wish to have his or her name to be read, you are welcome to do so. Please submit the names to the priest by Wednesday 5th of November.

The Children’s Liturgy of the Word will resume this Sunday 2nd November 2025 at 10am Mass.
Thank you to our dedicated team of Children’s Liturgists (Elizabeth Gray, Marie Claire Faller, Anne-Frances McLaughlin, Bernadette Sheppard & Lucy Murdoch) who lead the Liturgy of the Word discussions with our young people on a weekly basis. Thank you also to the parents, guardians & carers who bring their children to our Sunday Mass on a regular basis.

We welcome back to our community Fr. Joe McNulty, who is no stranger to our parish. He will be with us from Wednesday 12th November until Thursday 27th November 2025 while I am away home to India. PARISH CHRISTMAS PARTY
Join us for a wonderful evening of festive cheer and fellowship at our Parish Christmas Party on Tuesday 2nd December 2025. The celebration will take place in church house (presbytery) from 6pm to 8pm. All parishioners and well-wishers of St. Cadoc’s Parish Community are warmly invited to the fellowship buffet. This will be a great opportunity to connect with fellow parishioners and well-wishers to celebrate the joy of the season. I look forward to celebrating the season with our parish family! There is no charge for the party, however, a donation would, if possible, be greatly appreciated. Raffle prizes (such as bottles of wine, spirits, chocolates, or any useful products you can donate) needed! TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL ANNUAL CHRISTMAS FAYRE
Trinity High School Annual Christmas Fayre will take place on Thursday 4th December 2025 from 6pm to 8pm. All welcome. We are getting ready for our annual Christmas Fayre and we need your help. We are looking for donations of the following: raffle prizes, gifts for Christmas hampers eg-beauty products, pre-loved gifts, books & small toys. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO HELP WITH RISING ENERGY BILLS (GAS & ELECTRICITY)
As we head into winter, we face an expensive but essential bill for heating our church. Keeping warm over the winter months is vital for both the well-being of those attending the church, regardless of how full or not the pews may be, as well as the protection of the fabric of the building from both surface and interstitial condensation. Irrevocably this means high heating bills.
Since the aftermath of Covid-19, the cost of living, from buying groceries to heating our church and presbytery, has been on the rise sharply every day. Overall, our expenditures have increased faster than income. Our parish relies entirely on your contributions to pay our bills. I kindly appeal to your generosity to add an extra pound or two to your weekly contributions to help defray, in particular this winter, the high costs of energy bills.

It’s so simple. If you are a tax payer, normally come to Church, and are prepared to put your money offering in a confidential numbered envelope (or pay by Standing order) and sign a simple form, then the parish can (at no cost to yourself) reclaim the tax you have already paid on that offering. For every pound you give, your parish will get back an additional 25 pence from the Inland Revenue. Thanks are extended to all those who have answered our appeal and have committed to gift-aid their offerings. Anyone wishing to join the scheme, please contact Jim Cunningham, our parish Gift Aid organiser or Fr. Cirilo. Unfortunately, parishioners of St. Cadocs’ who drive to church are in a situation where there is no private parking within the church grounds. The streets surrounding the church therefore invariably become congested with parked cars especially at weekend Mass times. Whilst acknowledging the limitations of parking in relation to the church, I would ask those drivers attending services to consider the needs of local residents to have unimpeded access to their properties when choosing where to responsibly park. You can also use our car park which is situated behind the church. It can accommodate 6 cars. Thank you for your kindness and cooperation.
