PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL
INTROUCTION: Dear brothers and sisters, in today’s Gospel Jesus looks upon us with compassion and calls us to share his Good News. Trusting in his abundant love, let us bring our needs and the needs of the Church and the world before God our Father.
The response is… Lord graciously hear us.
╬ We pray for the leaders of the Church: that God grant them the wisdom, courage, and compassion to faithfully lead the flock and guide us in the way of truth. Lord, hear us; Lord graciously hear us.
╬ We pray for Deacon Kieran Burt who will be ordained to the priesthood in our diocese this Friday coming: that he may be true to his vocation and be filled with zeal to shepherd souls as a fisher of men. Lord, hear us; Lord graciously hear us.
╬ We pray for an end of aggression in the world, and particularly in the Holy Land, the Middle East, and Ukraine: that God may soften the hearts of leaders and open the path to lasting justice and reconciliation. Lord, hear us; Lord graciously hear us.
╬ We pray for missionaries and labourers in the faith: that the Lord of the harvest may send more generous workers into the field, and give courage to all who preach his Good News to those who are lost. Lord, hear us; Lord graciously hear us.
╬ We pray for all the sick of our families and our parish, those in hospital, in hospice or nursing home and those for whom we are asked to pray: that God may be their strength and grant them health, and bless those who care for them. Lord, hear us; Lord graciously hear us.
╬ We pray for the souls of all those whose anniversaries, months mind and birthday remembrances we are asked to recall, as well as those who have recently died: that they may receive the reward of their faith and enjoy the happiness of heaven. Lord, hear us; Lord graciously hear us.
CONCLUSION: God our Father, the harvest of your love is indeed abundant, but those who work to make this love visible in the world are few. Help us to take part with joy in this splendid task and to work for the coming of your kingdom. We make this prayer and all our prayers through Christ our Lord. Amen.

of those who believe in you.
Hear us for your sick servants

CHILDREN’S (SUMMER) TEA PARTY
.Children had a great day last Sunday. It was really wonderful to see all those young ones turning up for the party along with their parents, grandparents, guardians and carers. A huge thank you to everyone who came along to support our children on that day, and to those who donated the tasty home-baking and soft drinks, juices, cakes and contributed to this parish social event.
A word of appreciation and gratitude to Rita Kelly and Ellen Leonard who worked so hard on the day with setting up and tidying away the buffet meal.
In addition, a big thank you to all the Children’s Liturgy helpers for their valued help and support during the year. We currently have a dedicated team of 5 Children’s Liturgists (Elizabeth Gray, Marie Claire Faller, Anne-Frances McLaughlin, Bernadette Sheppard & Lucy Murdoch) who lead the Liturgy of the Word discussions with our young people on a weekly basis. Thanks are also extended to all those who have helped us in the Children’s Liturgy matters in previous years. We are looking for more volunteers. If any of you are interested in helping with the Children’s Liturgy Ministry on a Sunday, please contact Fr. Cirilo as soon as possible.
Special thanks to the parents, guardians and carers who bring their children to the church to participate in our children’s liturgy. Our young ones are the future of our parish. Their participation in parish activities, such as the children’s liturgy, is an important step in their faith formation. We recognise that parents, guardians, carers are the first catechists of their children. They are obviously of supreme importance and influence. Parents, guardians, carers, therefore, have a great responsibility to give a good example to their children, since children will grow in faith only if they see their parents, guardians, carers practise it. It is my humble and hearty request to parents, guardians & carers that you bring your children to a Sunday Mass on a regular basis.
We pray that our young people may have a safe and restful summer.

SECOND COLLECTION FOR THE WORK OF THE APOSTOLATE OF LIFE (DAY FOR LIFE)
Day for Life is a day in the Church’s year dedicated to raising awareness about the meaning and value of human life at every stage and in every condition. The Church teaches that life is to be nurtured from conception to natural death. In Scotland we keep our Annual Day for Life on the Feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, 31st May. Once again, this year, our Bishops have asked us to reflect on pro-life issues and to continue promoting and defending the dignity and sanctity of human life. This relates especially to, in the mother’s womb and at other vulnerable stages. We are also encouraged to contribute financially to help the various agencies which promote the pro-life cause.
This year’s theme is ‘The Wonder of the Child in the Womb’ and reflects on the humanity of the unborn child and acknowledges, with compassion, the deep grief experienced by parents who lose a child before or shortly after birth.
The annual collection for the Apostolate of the Pro-Life which is usually taken up on the nearest Sunday to the feast of the Visitation will be taken up on the weekends of (20th/21st June 2026 & 27th/28th June 2026) at all Masses.
A box intended for the work of the Apostolate of Life will be situated at the back of the church for the next two weeks beginning next weekend. I hope you will contribute with your usual generosity to this worthwhile cause.

CHURCH CLEANING
Thank you to all our parish volunteers [Irene Savage, Rose Hewitt, Rita Kelly, Anne McCafferty, Bernadette Goodwin, Frances Goodwin, Jane Ngomo, Anne Lennon & Ann Paterson] who generously gave of their time to clean the Church yesterday (Saturday). It makes all the difference!
We could do with more people willing to give of their time every three weeks to help with general cleaning of the church which takes place on a Saturday morning. If you would like to help with cleaning, please contact Anne Lennon, the parish co-ordinator, or Fr. Cirilo.

parking in the streets
surrounding the church
A core part of our mission is to be good neighbours, both to one another and to those who live around our church. A handful of our neighbours have reached out with concerns about their driveways being blocked by vehicles during our services and gatherings. Please be mindful of where you park to ensure you are not blocking access to our neighbours’ homes. Thank you for your kindness and cooperation.

an act of spiritual communion
(St. Alphonsus Liguori)
(This is a simple and loving act of Spiritual Communion we are called to make in these times,
while we are unable to attend Mass and receive the Eucharist)
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the
Most Holy Sacrament.
I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if you were already there
and unite myself wholly to you.
Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.

prayer to st. michael
St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in the day of battle.
Be our safeguard against the wickedness
and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Hosts,
by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan, and all the evil spirits
who prowl the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Holy mary, mother of god,
st. Joseph,
st. Michael and holy angels,
ST. CADOC,
